Coffee ia a very complex fruit. It takes between three and five years for the perfect combination of sun, shade and rain to achieve a bush of arabica coffee to produce its first ripe cherries, which contin two seeds and a green taht we know and value as coffee beans.
The coffee is grown and produced in coffee plantations, in particular between the Tropics of Cancer nad Capricorn (torrid zone). The best farms are typically in the high mountains, where coffee bushes thrive in a rich volcanic soil of nutrients. Higher latitudes also make coffee beans mature more slowly, giving them more depth and character. |
